FAQ
Is Origami non-custodial?
No. Origami trades as principal: you keep custody of your own wallet, but to fill a trade you deposit to the desk, and the desk settles to you. Through that window Origami holds your funds as your counterparty. See Counterparty & custody.
Can I trade across networks?
Yes — that's the core. Sell on one network, settle on another (BTC → USDC, ETH → SOL, USDC on Polygon → ETH on Arbitrum). Sell-side and buy-side legs are independent.
Which networks and assets are supported?
EVM (Ethereum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, BNB Smart Chain, Optimism), Solana, and Bitcoin — gas assets plus majors like USDC and USDT. See Supported markets.
How long does a fill take?
After you deposit, the desk waits for your deposit to clear a safe confirmation depth, then a broker approves and settlement broadcasts. Total time tracks the sell-side network's block times and finality depth — minutes, typically, not seconds.
What does it cost?
A spread priced into your RFQ (you see the exact fill before depositing). You pay your own deposit gas; the desk nets the settlement gas into the quote. OTC block trades carry a desk fee split across sides. See Pricing & fees.
My quote lapsed before I deposited.
Quotes are firm for ~90s. If yours expired, re-quote — the market moves, so the new RFQ reflects current pricing.
I sent the wrong amount.
Deposits match the quote by exact amount. An off-amount send won't auto-settle and must be reconciled manually — reach the desk with your reference ID. Always send exactly what the quote shows.
What if settlement fails?
The trade moves to a Payout failed state and a broker investigates and resolves it. Your deposit is accounted for — hold your reference ID.
Which wallets can I use?
EVM: MetaMask and other injected wallets, plus WalletConnect. Solana: Phantom, Solflare, Backpack. Bitcoin: Xverse, Leather, Phantom.
Do I sign anything to use the OTC desk?
Yes — you sign in with your wallet (a signature, not a transaction; free, moves no funds) so the desk can attribute your orders and fills to your identity.
How do I track a trade?
Every trade carries a public reference ID (e.g. OTC-2026-AB12CD34EF). Use it to pull
status anytime, or to reach support.
Is this financial advice?
No. Nothing in Origami Swap or these docs is financial advice. Trade at your own risk.
