Privacy Policy
Preliminary — being finalized
This is a preliminary version of our Privacy Policy, published while final details (operator information, regional rights mechanisms, and a contact) are completed. It may change at any time. Please check back for updates.
Effective date: June 9, 2026 Controller: Origami Swap (operating-entity details to be published).
This Policy explains what information we collect when you use Origami Swap (the "Service"), how we use and share it, and your rights.
1. Information we collect
You connect a wallet, not an account — but using a custodial trade service still involves data:
- Wallet & transaction data. Your wallet address(es), the assets/networks and amounts you quote and trade, deposit and settlement transaction hashes, and recipient addresses.
- Blockchain data. Public on-chain data associated with your addresses, which we read to verify deposits and settle trades.
- Technical & usage data. IP address, device/browser type, approximate location from IP, actions in the Service, and timestamps — for security, fraud prevention, and operation.
- Communications. Information you provide if you contact support.
- Identity / compliance data (if applicable). Where we are required to verify identity (KYC) or screen for AML/sanctions, we (or our verification providers) may collect identifying information, documents, and source-of-funds information.
We do not collect or have access to your wallet's private keys or seed phrase, and we never ask for them.
2. How we use information
To provide the Service (quote, verify deposits, settle trades); for security, fraud prevention, and integrity; for legal and regulatory compliance, including AML/KYC and sanctions screening where applicable, and to respond to lawful requests; to communicate with you about trades and support; and to analyze and improve the Service.
3. How we share information
- Service providers that help us operate (infrastructure, analytics, identity/AML verification), under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection terms.
- Legal, regulatory, and compliance recipients — to comply with law, sanctions, lawful requests, or to protect rights and safety.
- In a business transfer (merger, acquisition, financing), subject to this Policy.
Blockchains are public. Transactions on public networks — including deposits to and settlements from Origami — are recorded on those networks and are outside our control and visible to anyone. We cannot delete or alter on-chain data.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies & analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies, and privacy-respecting analytics, to operate and improve the Service. You can control cookies through your browser.
5. Data retention
We retain information as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business and legal purposes (including any AML recordkeeping requirements). On-chain data persists on the blockchain independently of us.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Region-specific mechanisms will be detailed in the final version. Note we cannot alter or erase public blockchain data.
9. Children
The Service is not directed to, and may not be used by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Third-party links & services
The Service may link to or rely on third-party sites and services (wallets, networks) governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. Material changes will be indicated by updating the effective date and appropriate notice.
12. Contact
Privacy questions or requests: a contact will be published with the final version.
